McCaffrey Aggregates make significant savings between a rock and a hard place!!!
B. McCaffrey and Sons Ltd is a third generation, family owned business and was established in 1968 by the late Bernard McCaffrey. The history of this local very well respected local company extends back into the 1940’s when they were first involved in the sand and gravel business in the Fermanagh/Cavan region.
From its first sand washing plant in Drumderg, Teemore, the business took a significant step in 1978, opening a limestone quarry at Knockninny, Derrylin. Here they expanded into supplying agricultural lime and ready-mix concrete, opening a new factory premises in 2004 to manufacture pre-cast wall panels and cattle slats.
In 2010 the company made its biggest development to date, acquiring two new quarries in Ederney, County Fermanagh and Drumquin, County Tyrone. This new acquisition has enabled the company to extend its geographic market and to broaden their product range. They have now diversified into the production of concrete blocks, tarmac and bedding lime, and have established a new surfacing division.
With now over 70 years of experience, the company has established a reputation throughout Ireland and the UK for quality products and excellent customer service.
John McGowan the Business Development Director from Specialist Cost Auditors first met with Cormac McCaffrey the Managing Director of the company back in May 2017. The initial meeting was for John to understand the structure of the company and ask a number of penetrating questions in order for him to diagnose where potential profit leaks may exist within his company.
Cormac was impressed by the track record of Specialist Cost Auditors and immediately engaged with their services. John knew exactly the best place to start with McCaffrey Aggregates and he introduced them to Giuseppe Masella from Morton House Corporate Services a Specialist London based supplier. They specialise in a business concept that is known within industry as an employment services business concept which is simple terms offer the client a financial rebate back into the business of about 2.5% based against their annual gross payroll.
Capita, Sainsbury’s, BT and a host of large Multi-National Corporations use this structure, Morton House are the only company that offer this service and opportunity to the SME marketplace. Cormac completed the standard requirements of due diligence on the concept and engaged with Morton House as a client.
Cormac is extremely happy with the extra monthly financial return he receives and said “the professionalism of John and his team from the start of the process to implementation was very pleasing and I can highly recommend the services of his business to any company”.
John McGowan has recently started reviewing a number of other business categories for McCaffrey Aggregates!!
